REHBER
FOUNDATION® has a tradition of establishing free medical camps on weekly
basis in areas where permanent health facilities are non-existent. Such camps
have been organized in rural areas of SOON VALLEY District Khushab. These camps
not only provide curative and preventive health services, but also create
awareness on health issues through advocacy and communication strategies.
REHBER
FOUNDATION® arranged Free Medical Camps in villages Angah, Mardwal, Dhaka,
Uchallah & Sodhi Jay Wali which are located in Union Council No. 3, 4, 5
of Tehsil & District Khushab.
Angah, Mardwal,
Dhaka, Uchallah, Sodhi Jay Wali are backward areas of Khushab District, where
the basic necessities of life are missing such as proper deposal system, health
facilities. People of the area are facing many problems presently missing of
afore said facilities. Because of having no proper disposal system, people get
infected with different seasonal diseases such as malaria, Dingue, stomach
diseases, cough, skin infection and other diseases.
At the start of
Medical Camps Mr. Muhammad Rizwan Lateef (President Rehber Foundation) addressed
to the community members who were gathered there on this event. He highlighted
the problems of the community that they were facing. He shared that one the
major problem of that area which is lack of health facilities, he also told
about some of the common diseases that spreads just because of our carelessness.
At the end he said that we are trying to over come these problems with self-help
basis, and only in this way we can solve our common problems. He emphasized on
the community participation in such kind of activities so that in future these
type of free medical camp would be arranged.
In these medical
camps Dr. Majeed Tiwana (Surgical Specialist & Dr. Muhammad Riaz examined
the patients, more than 1500 patients were treated in these villages through the
medical camps.
Findings More than
50% patients were of skin diseases and round about 25% patients were having
weakness because of improper diet. Some STI cases were also found.
Community really
appreciated this effort of Rehber Foundation, and demanded that such kind of
medical camps should be continued in future. They told that this is the first
time that such kind of activity is done in their area. They paid thank words to
all the technical staff of these medical camps who provided their services
without any cost.
